Tamango nace en bajo una clara
consigna: fusionar el tango de siempre
con la realidad de hoy. Ensamblar el
ritmo del 2 x 4 tradicional con una
instrumentación moderna, sin perder
su esencia musical; transmitir esa
evocación, esa nostalgia por las
cosas que ya no están, por los
amores que no fueron, que es la
naturaleza misma del tango, a un público
ávido de estremecerse, de divertirse, de
reflexionar, de transitar todas las
emociones por las que nos lleva un
“buen tango”.

Die raffinierten
Arrangements machen
die beiden natürlich
selbst, erfinden
aber gerne auf der
Bühne noch das ein
oder andere dazu.
Dabei nehmen die
Instrumente
verschiedene
Charaktere an. Es
entstehen Bilder,
die schlagartig
wechseln und unter
den Fingern der
beiden Virtuosen zu
großartiger Musik
werden.
In diesem
musikalischen Dialog
der beiden geht es
ohrenscheinlich um
die Tangothemen
Liebe und
Leidenschaft, um
Nostalgie und
grandiose Melodien.
Nun hat das Duo
diagonal aber mehr
Register, als es
Tangoklischées gibt,
und deshalb klingt
alles, was die
beiden spielen
völlig neu und
jenseits von Rose
und Hut.
Las Sombras - die Schatten
...das sind die vier Herren und eine
Dame, die sich in einer
außergewöhnlichen Besetzung als eine
völlig neue
Generation von Tangokünstlern
präsentieren. Ihr
Repertoire umfasst Tango von den
traditionellen
Ursprüngen bis zu den Meisterwerken
eines Astor Piazzolla.
Aber auch zeitgenössische Komponisten
wie Graham Lynch
oder Huges Bebés haben ihren Platz im
Programm von Las
Sombras. Die vielfach prämierte Flötistin
Simone Graf
gründete das Ensemble 2004 und fügte
den typischen
Instrumenten des Tango (Akkordeon/
Gitarre/ Piano/
Kontrabass) die Eleganz der Klassik
(Querflöte) und den
rauen Charme des Jazz (Saxophon)
hinzu. Alle
musikalischen Arrangements werden von
Las Sombras
selbst gemacht - in ihnen verschmelzen
klassische
Virtuosität und südamerikanisches
Temperament. Ihr
kraftvoller und feuriger Tango, der nicht
nur mit dem Jazz
flirtet, ließen Las Sombras vom
Geheimtipp der Tangoszene
schnell zum gerngesehenen Gast in
zahlreichen
Veranstaltungsreihen avancieren.
In recent times,
Slovene musicians
have been busy
proving that they
can successfully
test themselves
against virtually
any style of music,
traditional or
classical. For
several years now,
tango has been a
part of everyday
life here, and its
popularity keeps on
growing. This new,
tight and well-honed
ensemble- most of
whose members have
classical music
training- can
undoubtedly
contribute greatly
to increasing the
popularity of tango
in Slovenia still
further, but they
also offer much more
than just
reinterpretations of
the old Argentinian
standards. Since the
name Astorpia itself
alludes to one of
the most important
*new tango* artists,
Astor Piazzolla it
should come as no
surprise that we
find five of his
compositions on
their first album
MAR DEL PLATA, among
them Libertango and
Invierno Porteno,
which have already
become classics and
make up part of a
cycle dedicated to
the four seasons. In
addition to these
pieces, which
Astorpia manage to
imbue with renewed
vigour and
freshness, their
repertoire includes
compositions by a
number of other
artists. They are
not averse to
playing wittily with
the established
rhythms of tango,
not even to placing
them in a Balkan
context, in a
similar way to
composer Milos
Simic. In one of
their songs, the
group take a
different direction
entirely with a
fiery Czardas. Viva

Želja im je da publici predstave svu
širinu tango kulture pa se osim
tradicionalnih tango numera, kao i
kompozicija tango nuevo pravca
Astora Piazzolle, na repertoaru Beltanga
nalaze i kompozicije savremenih
autora, koji svoju inspiraciju nalaze u
tangu, ne libeći se pritom da
naprave izlete i u druge muzičke
pravce. Beltango je prvi i jedini tango
orkestar sa ovih prostora koji u svom
sastavu neguje autentican
bandoneon, instrument koji je istorijski
neraskidivo povezan sa tangom, a
čiji specifičan zvuk, na
najbolji način dočarava svu
lepotu i raznolikost
boja i emocija koje samo tango moze da
pruži.
Beltango je do sada održao veliki broj
koncerata u elitnim koncertnim
prostorima Beograda, kao što su Sava
Centar, Kolarčeva zadužbina,
Narodno Pozorište, Madlenianum, Bitef
Teatar, Guarnerius, Paviljon
Cvijete Zuzorić, Etnografski
muzej, Diplomatski Klub kao i u mnogim
gradovima Srbije (Novi Sad, Niš,
Kragujevac, Smederevo,
Aranđelovac,
Subotica, Pirot, Negotin, Užice i
Čačak... Beltango razvija i
zapaženu
svetsku karijeru, nastupali su na velikom
broju internacionalnih festivala i
započeli umetničku
saradnju sa brojnim tango umetnicima iz
Argentine,
Urugvaja, Francuske, Italije,
Nemačke, Finske, Grčke,
Japana, Mađarske,
Slovenije i Bugarske. Uz mnoštvo
televizijskih nastupa i veliku medijsku
pažnju koju je Beltango privukao
snimljena su i dva dokumentarna
filma "Bandoneon" i "Beogradski zvuk".
Izdat je i cd ansambla Beltango
pod nazivom "Beltango Plays Tango
Nuevo", kao live izdanje "Beltango en
vivo".

The Essential Tango singers collaborate
to create a variety of programs that
highlight their musical and expressive
range. Their appeal is as captivating
when they perform individually, as when
they sing together one of their own
memorable ensemble arrangements.
Leon Palad and Kilo Muñoz have
delighted audiences in Texas, Oregon,
California, and abroad.
Both singers received their musical
education at the San Francisco
Conservatory of Music. Between the two,
their performances encompass the
operatic and oratorio repertory with
regional symphony orchestra and opera
companies. In addition to the popular
repertory, they have also performed in
classical recitals, benefit concerts, and
choral ensembles.
Mandrágora Tango is a vibrant collective
of tango musicians based in Minneapolis,
dedicated to preserving the nearly-lost
musical forms of tango and translating
them for today's listeners and dancers.
Tango music defies categorization, living
somewhere between classical, jazz and
world beat. Mandrágora dances across
those lines and creates a music that is
fresh, engaging, danceable and
nostalgic. Or something like that.
